Features: "Selected Lectures on Song Dynasty Poems by Renowned Poets," is a book compiled and written by students based on the recordings of a series of lectures given by the author during the winter of 2002 at Nankai University. At that time, since the students who attended the lectures had not previously taken the author's courses on Tang and Five Dynasties as well as Northern Song Dynasty poems, and since the Southern Song Dynasty poems evolved from the former, the author had to give two introductory lectures on Tang and Five Dynasties as well as Northern Song Dynasty poems before formally starting the lectures on Southern Song Dynasty poems. The book includes: "On Li Qingzhao's Poems," "On Lu You's Poems," "On Jiang Kui's Poems," "On Wu Wenying's Poems," "On Wang Yi's Poems," and an appendix titled "On the Feminine Traits of 'Hua Jian Ci' and the Heroic and Unrestrained Poems of Jia Xuan."
