Features: This book is a planned teaching material for higher political and legal colleges, approved by the Legal Textbook Editorial Department of the Ministry of Justice. Since its publication in 1997, it has been widely adopted by political and legal colleges, university law departments, and law schools, achieving good teaching results. At the same time, readers have also provided many valuable suggestions. Based on their feedback, we made partial revisions in 1999 and 2003. Due to the recent changes in types of social crimes and the development of the fight against crime, as well as the continuous emergence of new research findings, it has become urgent to supplement and revise the original textbook. Therefore, we have recently revised the "Criminal Psychology" textbook and published the 2007 revised edition. Taking this opportunity to publish the revised edition, we have also corrected some flaws in the original textbook caused by minor proofreading errors and writing oversights. The original textbook consisted of 16 chapters. To conduct a deeper study of the social psychological effects of criminal punishment and its effectiveness in crime prevention, we have added a new chapter titled "Criminal Punishment Psychology." Additionally, we have incorporated "Criminal Psychological Rehabilitation" into the scope of criminal psychology, making it an important part of special prevention.
