Features: Seawater cooling towers are an effective way to conserve freshwater resources and reduce marine thermal pollution in coastal areas. They are widely adopted in countries such as Japan, Germany, and the United States. China began researching seawater cooling in the 1990s and included it in the national "Eighth Five-Year Plan," "Ninth Five-Year Plan," and "Tenth Five-Year Plan," establishing demonstration projects for seawater circulating cooling towers with capacities of 100t/h, 2500t/h, and 1400t/h. Significant achievements have been made in the research of water treatment agents for seawater circulating cooling, but research on seawater cooling towers themselves has not progressed. This book focuses on introducing research findings related to the process principles and design calculations of seawater cooling towers, which can promote the development of seawater circulating cooling technology. The book is divided into eight chapters, covering topics such as general introduction, basic theory of evaporative cooling of circulating water, design calculations for cooling towers, materials for seawater cooling tower cores, shape optimization of large natural ventilation (seawater) cooling towers, water distribution and calculations for natural ventilation (seawater) cooling towers, and two-dimensional optimization design methods for large natural ventilation (seawater) cooling towers. This book is suitable for readers engaged in cooling tower design, research, production, and operation management, as well as for university students and faculty in relevant fields and professionals in environmental protection.
