Features: Since its publication, this book has been widely accepted and welcomed by readers over the past 10 years. The focus of this revision is primarily on the content. In addition to updating some outdated and obsolete content, many new contents have been added and supplemented to reflect the recent advancements and achievements in the field of management. To adapt to the emphasis on case teaching in contemporary management education and facilitate teaching and learning for instructors and students, this revised edition has added a relevant case study after each part. The parts with the most significant changes and updates include: In Chapter 1 of the Introduction part, a section titled "Management and Environment" has been added; Chapter 4 of the Planning part has been adjusted and expanded to include content related to strategy; The chapter arrangement of the Organizing part has been significantly revised, with the addition of a new chapter titled "Organizational Change"; In the Staffing part, the evaluation of supervisors has been updated to include "Balanced Scorecard" and "Excellence Performance Standards"; In Section 3 of Chapter 8 of the Organizing part and Section 3 of Chapter 14 of the Leading part, the concept, types, development, and team-building techniques of teams have been introduced in a more comprehensive and systematic manner. Other chapters have also been rewritten and adjusted as necessary. The emphasis on the scientificity, logic, and rigor of the content remains one of the major features of this book.
