Does a pregnant woman with transmit it to the fetus?

Patient's question:

I am 38 years old. Recently, I feel that my liver is very tired. I haven't had a good appetite. At night, I always feel a sharp pain in my stomach. I went to the nearby hospital for a check-up and was told it was liver disease. They advised me to get an injection. I would like to ask if a pregnant woman with (HBeAg positive) can transmit it to the fetus?

Doctor's answer:

Patients with minor hepatitis B (HBsAg positive) generally have a low viral load in their bodies, and the transmissibility is relatively weak. If minor hepatitis B is detected during pregnancy, the likelihood of transmitting it to the fetus through the placenta is relatively small. During full-term labor, there is a possibility of transmission to the child through the birth canal, but the probability is not high. Pregnant women can undergo an HBV DNA test to further understand the viral load in their bodies. If the viral load is not significant and the transmissibility is weak, it is generally unlikely to transmit the infection to the child.
