Should you get treated for hepatitis C?

Patient's question:

I am 38 years old. Recently, I feel that my liver is very tired. I haven't had much appetite, and at night, I always feel a sharp pain in my stomach. I went to the nearby hospital for a check-up and was told it was liver disease. They advised me to get injections. Should I treat hepatitis C?

Doctor's answer:

Hepatitis C is also a chronic hepatitis disease that can be transmitted through blood, sexual contact, or from mother to child. Hepatitis C is primarily treated with antiviral therapy, and the cure rate is generally very high. If you have acute hepatitis C, it is usually possible for more than 90% of cases to be cured on their own. The treatment process for chronic hepatitis C is longer, but with these antiviral treatments and attention to lifestyle management, there is still a possibility of being cured.
