Is chronic hepatitis B with small serious?

Patient's question:

I am 38 years old. Recently, I feel that my liver is very tired. I haven't had much appetite, and at night, I always feel a sharp pain in my stomach. I went to the nearby hospital for a check-up and was told it was liver disease. They asked me to get an injection. Is hepatitis B, small positive (HBeAg negative), serious?

Doctor's answer:

The situation you described is recommended to be further improved by checking liver function, quantifying HBV DNA, and conducting a detailed upper abdominal ultrasound. If the hepatitis B (minor positive) has normal liver function and the HBV DNA level is below the detection limit, it may be considered HBV carriage, and regular follow-up tests can be performed without immediate treatment. If symptoms of hepatitis B reappear in the future course of the disease, standardized antiviral treatment may be necessary. Having hepatitis B, as long as the condition is stable, will not affect future survival and pregnancy can be normal.
