Features: With China's economy becoming increasingly vibrant, the world has entered an era of unlimited competition, and there is a trend of regional economic integration. Exchange in all fields—political, economic, social, and cultural—has grown increasingly active, to the point where knowing a foreign language is no longer optional for survival. Moreover, due to Korea's close geographical proximity to China and its long-standing historical ties, as well as its shared cultural sphere, the two countries have maintained a strong exchange and collaboration relationship. Compared to others, we have an even greater need to master the Chinese language. With the bid for the 2008 Olympics and WTO membership as a turning point, China and Korea have become partners in the 21st century, and China's status as a trading partner has become increasingly important. Like other foreign languages, Chinese has been established as a discipline in nearly all universities, and it is also highly valued in middle schools and various language schools, indicating that the prospects for Chinese are very broad. Our goal in learning Chinese is to understand China, improve communication skills, enhance international exchange, and accumulate the ability to proactively adapt to changes in the era. It is also to meet the social and readers' demands that arise with the development of culture, academia, and other fields. Four years ago, when we published the Korean-Chinese dictionary, we did not anticipate the need for a revised edition. However, to adapt to language changes and the emergence of new terms and loanwords, while recognizing their importance, we decided to publish a revised edition to make the dictionary more practical and convenient. This dictionary is a learning tool that will to the greatest extent possible meet readers' needs for convenience and practicality. We hope this dictionary can help a wide range of readers learn Chinese and understand China.
