Features: This textbook is revised based on the "University Physics (New Edition)" edited by Professor Wu Baishi of Xi'an Jiaotong University. The textbook adheres to the guiding principles of the original book, focusing on strengthening fundamental theories and cultivating students' abilities to analyze, solve problems, and independently acquire knowledge. Additionally, the content, examples, and exercises of this textbook have been streamlined based on the original, with moderate difficulty. The book is divided into two volumes. This is the second volume, consisting of three parts: Electromagnetism, Wave Motion and Wave Optics, and Fundamentals of Modern Physics. This textbook can be used as a teaching material for engineering majors in universities with 90–120 hours of university physics teaching hours, as well as for non-physics majors in science, technology, and teacher training institutions. This textbook is revised based on the "University Physics (New Edition)" published by Science Press in 2001. The main revisions include the deletion and simplification of some high-demand or starred content in the original book. For example, in the mechanics section, concepts such as acceleration in general plane curves, inertial forces, discussions on potential energy curves, the theorem of the center of mass, and an introduction to variable mass dynamics have been deleted. In the thermodynamics section, the Boltzmann distribution law, internal transport phenomena of gases, and the macroscopic representation of entropy have been deleted, while the properties of real gases have been simplified. The electromagnetism section and other parts have also been correspondingly simplified and deleted. This revision also deletes and adjusts some examples and review questions in the original book that are too difficult or high in demand, and makes appropriate adjustments to the exercises in each chapter, deleting
