Features: Huanggang High School, founded in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the Education System of China" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in the Construction of Spiritual Civilization in China." Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "putting people first and establishing the school with virtue," forming the distinctive educational feature of "comprehensive development + specialized skills." It has explored a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, seeking refinement, seeking novelty, and seeking innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is an inevitable result of its long-term implementation of quality education and only one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What ability does it have to turn sand into a tower? What skill does it have to turn stone into gold? These are questions I often hear. If one thinks that Huanggang High School merely follows the (commanding baton) of the college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking, that would be incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully grasp the intentions of test-setters and deeply understand their underlying principles, becoming a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students from doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and monotonous exercises but requires them to complete necessary ones. We encourage students to tackle flexible, diverse, and widely applicable problems, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop their abilities, and enhance their qualities through the process of solving them.
If there is any other success Huanggang High School has achieved, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged its teaching staff, creating renowned master teachers in Hubei Province. These teachers possess profound scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic skills, and abundant teaching achievements.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School teachers and share their teaching results, we have organized the frontline core teaching staff of the school to meticulously plan and compile four series of books: "Huanggang High School Homework Books," "Huanggang High School Exam Papers," and "Huanggang High School 2007 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Questions." The "Huanggang High School 2007 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Questions" series adopts a "full simulation" format to highlight its features. The number and difficulty of both open-ended and conventional questions are designed to closely align with the college entrance exams, emphasizing innovation and practicality.
Targeting the different time periods and characteristics of the first, second, and third rounds of college entrance exam review, we have positioned the first-round training questions as unit exercises, the second-round training questions as thematic exercises, and the third-round training questions as simulated exams. This allows us to comprehensively and progressively address the problems students encounter during the third-round review from three perspectives and three levels.
Part of the content of this series is derived from internal teaching materials and exchanges with friendly schools, while the other part is newly added materials based on recent changes in college entrance exam questions, now compiled and published for the first time. This series also reflects the following compilation philosophy and features:
1. Appropriate exercise positioning: Based on the chronological order of the review period, the exercise arrangement focuses on consolidating and gradually improving the knowledge points, question types, and methods associated with them. The complexity and difficulty of the questions are progressively designed to approach the level of the college entrance exams.
2. Detailed solution hints: The answers at the end of the book are appropriately detailed, with more thorough explanations provided for difficult questions. The well-placed hints in the series often play a pivotal role.
This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the questions written by the authors. Rigorous review and proofreading are conducted at every stage to strive to make it a unique gem in the educational supplement market.
