Features: The Whampoa Military Academy was a newly established military officer training school founded by Sun Yat-sen in China. Its full name is the National Military Academy of the Kuomintang, and it is commonly known as the Whampoa Military Academy due to its location on Whampoa Island in Guangzhou. Since its founding on June 16, 1924, the Whampoa Military Academy has now celebrated its 80th anniversary. It has gone through several developmental stages, including Guangzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, and Fengshan Military Academy in Taiwan. This book records only the history from its preparation to the end of the Great Revolution in 1927, up to the graduation of its fifth cohort. The book is divided into three volumes, based on extensive historical materials, and presents to readers the dramatic struggles in modern Chinese history, as well as the early key figures of both the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Kuomintang (KMT), and the inner workings of their first cooperation during that historical tide.
