Can you get infected with avian flu by touching eggs?

Patient's question:

Some of my friends have infectious diseases, I'm afraid of getting infected, but I feel shy asking others. I want to go to the hospital for a check-up, but I'm also afraid. Can I get infected by touching eggs if I have contact with avian flu?

Doctor's answer:

If avian influenza were to occur again, there would need to be three conditions. First, there must be a source of transmission, such as chickens infected with avian influenza. Second, close contact with chickens carrying the virus, or decomposed metabolic waste of chickens, as well as eggs contaminated by industrial pollution. Infection also depends on your immunity and resistance. If your immunity and resistance are high, you may never get infected. If they are low, it is easy to get infected. Therefore, the other side of being infected described above is insufficient, and it is impossible to confirm the result. It may be possible to get infected.
