Features: Chen Bai, pen name Bai Yi, is a first-class artist and professor. Born in September 1926 in Shaoyang City, Hunan Province, he graduated from Central China Art College. He has served as a member of the Chinese Writers' Association, a standing council member of the Chinese Artists' Association, vice chairman and executive chairman of the Hunan Provincial Writers' Association, chairman of the Hunan Provincial Artists' Association, and director of the Hunan Provincial Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute. Currently, he holds the positions of vice president of the Contemporary Chinese Ink Painting Society, advisor to the Hunan Provincial Artists' Association, and visiting professor at the Fine Arts College of Hunan Normal University. Over the past fifty years, he has dedicated himself to the study of Chinese ink painting, tirelessly researching ancient painting traditions and visiting modern masters. In the 1970s, he traveled to Dunhuang and Yongle Palace specifically to study and copy. He has also extensively collected and researched folk art, absorbing its essence. In the 1980s, he visited Western Europe to study and learn from Western art. He blends traditional painting, folk art, and Western art into a unique style, expressing modern life with creativity and forming his own distinctive approach. In middle age, he focused on freehand figure painting. With a people-centered approach, he continuously delves into life, creating works rich in vitality and strong life force. He has participated in numerous domestic and international exhibitions, achieving significant influence.
