Features: An outstanding and classic logo not only possesses unique creativity but is also perfect in aesthetics, functionality, and connotative expression. The relationships between the structure, points, lines, and planes of the logo, as well as the use of color, must adhere to the principles of aesthetic form. A logo is a visual language that must be concise, clear, easily recognizable, and memorable. It is also an iconic language, where imagery is used to convey meaning, and this expression cannot be separated from human visual habits for identification. Additionally, when designing, one must also consider the logo's need to be used in different environments, occasions, and media.
The history of logos dates back over five thousand years, evolving from early symbols and signs. Many scholars and experts have conducted extensive research and introductions on the subject. The published books on logos have extensively incorporated the discussions and perspectives of experts from various fields. Most of the examples and outstanding logos selected are from foreign sources, and the designers' surnames cannot be identified—hereby expressing sincere gratitude to the authors.
The appendices include the Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China because the author deeply feels that designers should have a better understanding of the Trademark Law to better protect their own and others' intellectual property rights, thereby making China's design industry more standardized and diversified.
