Neuroblastoma is inherited from parents?

Patient's question:

My son was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, but neither my husband nor his family members have this disease. Since last year, he has been wanting to sleep during the day, unable to eat, and constantly running a fever. This family is very worried and has taken him to the hospital for thorough examination. The doctor said it was neuroblastoma. I picked up medication from the hospital and took it home, but there was no improvement at all. Is neuroblastoma inherited from parents across generations?

Doctor's answer:

Wilms' tumor is the third most common abdominal malignant tumor in children. Among 98 cases of recurrence, the majority are children under 3 years old. After the age of 3, the incidence rate increases significantly, and it is rare after the age of 5. Adults rarely develop Wilms' tumor, with about 3% of cases occurring in adults, which is referred to as adult Wilms' tumor. The exact cause of Wilms' tumor remains unclear and may be related to the loss or mutation of the WT-1 gene on chromosome 11 (located at 11p13). It may also be caused by a failure in the division and continued cell division of mesenchymal embryonic basal cells into kidney tissue. This disease also has a certain familial predisposition, as some believe it may also have a hereditary component.
