Selected Prose of Lu Xun (Volumes 1 and 2)

Author: Wang Dehou
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2006-04-01
Features: Lu Xun's essays and miscellany, which offer a style that is not only unseen by ancient sages but also unattainable by later generations. First and foremost, its characteristic lies in the depth of observation, the sharpness of wit, the ingenuity of metaphors, and the conciseness of prose. Moreover, its atmosphere brims with a touch of humor, which is why readers often feel a chilling flavor, as if they were fearless even when drinking poison. When we see the part, he sees the whole. When we are eager to grasp the present, he has already grasped the past, the present, and the future. To understand the comprehensive national spirit of China, there is no shortcut other than reading The Complete Works of Lu Xun.—Yu Dafu
