Features: In the 1950s and 1960s, our press organized the publication of selections of outstanding long novels nationwide, showcasing the style and level of long novel creation at that time. After the new era, the number of long novels surged, with themes, styles, and techniques becoming increasingly diverse. To more comprehensively reflect the achievements of long novel creation during this period, in May 2004, we edited and published the series "Representative Works of Famous Contemporary Chinese Novelists," featuring the works of twenty-five writers. These works excelled in depth, uniqueness, evoking strong responses, or were widely enjoyed by readers. The series received positive social feedback after publication. For this re-publication, we adjusted the original series' selection, added more works, and included those that won the Mao Dun Literature Prize in the "Complete Collection of Mao Dun Literature Prize Winners." As a result, the "Representative Works of Famous Contemporary Chinese Novelists" series now offers a more complete and comprehensive selection, aligning with our previously published "Contemporary Chinese Long Novel Anthology" and "Complete Collection of Mao Dun Literature Prize Winners," creating a cohesive reading experience. This allows readers to gain a clearer understanding of the development trajectory and overall style of long novel creation since the founding of New China from different stages and perspectives. This is Li Rui's debut long novel, a masterfully crafted work with condensed content and a unique style.
