Publish Date: 2007-01-01
Features: In the 1950s and 1960s, our publishing house organized a nationwide selection of outstanding long (novels) anthologies, showcasing the style and level of long (novels) (creation) at that time. After the New Period, the number of long (novels) (created) increased significantly, with themes, styles, and techniques becoming increasingly diverse. To more comprehensively reflect the achievements of long (novels) (created) during this period, in May 2004, we edited and published the series "Representative Works of Famous Contemporary Chinese Novelists," featuring the works of twenty-five writers. These works excelled in depth, uniqueness, or had once sparked strong responses, or were widely enjoyed by readers. The series received positive social feedback after publication. For this re-publication, we adjusted the original series list, selected additional works, and included those that had won the Mao Dun Literature Prize in the "Complete Collection of Mao Dun Literature Prize Winners." As a result, the selection of the "Representative Works of Famous Contemporary Chinese Novelists" series is now more complete and comprehensive, and it aligns with the two other series published by our house, "Contemporary Chinese Long (novels) Anthologies" and "Complete Collection of Mao Dun Literature Prize Winners." This allows readers to gain a clearer understanding of the development trajectory and overall style of long (novels) (created) since the founding of New China from different stages and perspectives. This book is a long (novel) by Jiang Zilong. The protagonist, Shao Nansun, is born into a legendary family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners. Although he followed his father's wishes to complete medical school and become a doctor, he enjoys writing and falls in love with the most beautiful actress in the city, Hualuchan. To get closer to her, he voluntarily joins the Peking Opera troupe as a janitor known as "Grandson." Hualuchan went on stage at the age of five and took over the lead role at twelve. "Grandson's" sincerity moved her, and the two fell in love.
