Features: In the 1980s and 1990s, our publishing house had edited and published annual selections of various literary genres, including fiction, essays, poetry, and reportage. Later, this work was temporarily suspended. In the new century, we gradually resumed the editing and publication of annual selections of short stories, mid-length fiction, and essays, systematically reviewing and summarizing the achievements of China's mid-length fiction and essay writing in that year and recommending them to readers, which achieved good results and contributed to the literary heritage of the new century. Reportage is keen and timely in capturing the pulse of the times and reflecting social life. Based on suggestions from literary professionals and readers, and to form a series alongside the annual selections of fiction and essays, our publishing house also resumed the editing and publication of annual selections of reportage, which were published in January of the following year. The selection scope covers reportage works published in newspapers and periodicals across the country in that year, with the order of selected works arranged by the time of their original publication. We hope that the annual reportage selection can reflect the overall state of reportage writing in that year, allowing readers to concentrate on reading and appreciating the outstanding reportage works of the time.
