Is it intestinal cramps?

Patient's question:

My child ate a lot of ice pops yesterday, and I was worried he might get sick at night. By the evening, he started having constant stomach pain, so severe that he was in and out of consciousness. I gave him a hot compress with warm water to relieve the pain, but it didn't help much. Could it be intestinal spasm?

Doctor's answer:

If intestinal cramps reappear, they typically manifest as recurrent (sharp abdominal pain). Nausea, abdominal pain, and even the possibility of blood in the stool may also recur. In such cases, it's advisable to have a stool examination at the hospital. If an infection reoccurs, anti-inflammatory medication should be taken. If there is inflammation, anti-inflammatory drugs are necessary for treatment. It is recommended to take medication under the guidance of a local doctor.
