Features: The novel has finally ended. The coolest time of summer is undoubtedly after the rain, as if the rain on the terrace has splashed onto the window frames. I returned from the northern Myanmar battlefield to reality. This novel's metaphysical meaning is dedicated to those who are immersed in meditative melodies, flying with poetic wings in the stories of humanity. War has completely flattened the physical and spiritual essence of humanity. The story I tell takes place in northern Myanmar, but it is related to China, intertwined with the destinies of women and men. What is most captivating, of course, is humanity. The author, my small self, is immersed in this humanity, wanting only to tell the readers a story that may have been overlooked by us. Because our individuals often engage in competition and provocation in war, and only at such moments does the flower of humanity reveal its dark and brilliant colors. I cried, silently crying for the people in the story. Although I live in another era, Lin Guizhi is me, and I could also be Lisa and Li Xiaojuan. In short, they are women, the kind who make the flesh emit fragrance, like grass dancing with the wind. I cried because I could not win the general's love. I once used my greatest efforts to imagine such a meeting: when World War II spread to northern Myanmar, I transformed into a butterfly by the general's side, a typical tropical butterfly. When the general walked, I flew; when the general rested, I quietly resided in his tent. If the general encountered an opportunity to die, I would go with him to die, with my colorful body, falling from a cliff or amidst the whistling bullets. I cried because I could not win this love, which led me to write this book, dedicated to the general.
