Features: On August 28, 2006, the Ministry of Education and the National Language and Character Work Commission jointly issued the "Outline for the Assessment of Chinese Character Application Proficiency" and will begin a trial implementation starting from February 1, 2007. It is applicable to civil servants, editors, journalists, proofreaders, and text input personnel, teachers and students in various schools, secretaries and office staff, advertising industry professionals, Chinese subtitle machine operators, and other personnel closely related to daily work and Chinese character application. The "Outline for the Assessment of Chinese Character Application Proficiency" specifies that the test scope covers 5,500 Chinese characters listed in the "Chinese Character Application Proficiency Test Table," with Chinese character application divided into three proficiency levels, from high to low: Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. To meet the needs of and Chinese character proficiency test takers, we have specially compiled two sets of Chinese-related book series: "Common 5,500 Characters in Regular Script" and "Common 5,500 Characters in Running Script." These two series both select the 5,500 commonly used Chinese characters released by the National Language Commission and the National Education Commission, arranged according to the stroke order and number of strokes of the characters, with a focus on practicality and ease of learning. They progress step by step, from simple to complex, with various relevant knowledge about the characters provided on each page, enabling and Chinese character proficiency test takers to benefit and write and take the exam with ease.
