Patient's question:
What measures are there to prevent hemolytic disease?Doctor's answer:
Hemolytic disease often occurs again in the early stages of pregnancy, especially in women who have experienced recurrent miscarriage or are pregnant with their second child. If a woman has previously had unexplained stillbirths, severe jaundice, or other complications, she should undergo ABO blood type testing with her husband early on in her next pregnancy. The test should check for the presence of anti-A and anti-B antibodies in her body. If the test results are outside the normal range, intervention is necessary. Without intervention, the likelihood of the fetus developing hemolytic disease again is high.
