Publish Date: 2007-01-01
Features: This book has made great efforts in obtaining data and has consulted the latest research literature in this field from abroad, mastering the most advanced analytical methods internationally. Based on the analysis of the income gap among residents in China, this book focuses on analyzing the income situation of residents in Beijing, decomposing the income gap in Beijing into the urban-rural gap, the gap within urban areas, and the gap within rural areas. Since the regional gap in Beijing is not significant, this book does not analyze it. To determine the proportion of each type of gap (urban-rural, within urban areas, and within rural areas) in the income gap of Beijing residents, as well as which gap is the main contradiction, quantitative methods are needed. For this purpose, the book conducts more detailed groupings of the internal income of urban residents and rural residents, deeply decomposing and analyzing the explanatory variables and reasons affecting the income gap among residents, and measuring and explaining the extent of the explanations. On this basis, the book proposes targeted countermeasures and suggestions on how to alleviate the income gap among residents, hoping to contribute to promoting fair economic growth in China.
