Is facial bleeding a precursor to leukemia?

Patient's question:

During this time, I keep bleeding when I wash my face. A few days ago, I thought it was caused by a stomachache, but now my gums aren't swollen either. I also read that spots on the body could be a sign of leukemia. I took a look at myself and noticed red spots on my arms. Is this a sign of leukemia?

Doctor's answer:

First, there is no need to worry about it. It is not that some parts of your body have appeared with bleeding spots again. Bleeding gums while brushing your teeth does not mean you have leukemia. Based on the clinical symptoms you described, you may have experienced low platelet levels again. It is recommended that you go to the hospital as soon as possible for a complete blood count test to check your platelet levels. Then, further tests such as a bone marrow aspiration can be conducted to diagnose whether you have leukemia!
