Do you have hepatitis C?

Patient's question:

My older brother has always been in good health, but recently he has noticeably lost a few pounds. He often lacks appetite, even when eating his favorite sweet and sour ribs, he only takes a few bites and then stops. Besides the nausea, after doing some research, I found that his symptoms are somewhat similar to early-stage hepatitis C. How did my cousin develop hepatitis C?

Doctor's answer:

These manifestations cannot be inferred; it could be that there are cookies, but there may also be adhesions, such as hepatitis B, gastroenteritis, and similarly, this situation may reoccur. Liver function damage, long-term stress, excessive pressure, overexertion, and psychological and emotional factors are also reasons similar to those of the illness. To confirm whether it is hepatitis C, one needs to go to the hospital to have blood drawn to check for hepatitis C virus antibodies. If the result is negative, it means there isn't any. If it's positive, it proves the presence of hepatitis C transmission. Simple symptoms alone cannot serve as a basis for diagnosis.
