Features: The beauty of old Chinese customs is truly nostalgic. In the past, education was far less widespread than it is today, and the legal system was even less strict. However, customs such as diligence, simplicity, and integrity were far superior to those of today. Most people in the past were illiterate and had not received formal education. Yet, they managed to uphold such virtues because they were deeply influenced by ancient teachings and good practices passed down through generations, such as "mutual assistance in going out and returning," "mutual vigilance and assistance," and "supporting the sick." These phrases became ingrained traditions. These customs differ greatly from the current Western practices, and some argue that if such traditions are preserved indefinitely, the nation will be unable to compete with civilized countries and will remain backward. In reality, this is not necessarily the case. While customs and politics are indeed intertwined, simplicity does not hinder progress. Therefore, I wish to write about the good customs of the past, hoping that not only will it be entertaining, but it may also help to counterbalance the current frivolous trends.
