Environmental Approach to Landscape Design (4th Edition)

Features: One of the primary purposes of writing this book is to integrate some landscape principles related to the environment and land use; in other words, it aims to effectively summarize knowledge from fields such as geography, landscape design, planning, and other related disciplines. To this day, this goal remains unchanged, and with the continuous advancement of the environmental planning field in recent years—more people involved, more discussions, and fewer communication barriers—it is something that landscape planning professionals, teachers, researchers, and students can take pride in. The ongoing addition of materials has always been a source of frustration for this book. Due to the extensive scope of the field, research requires extensive reading, maps, technical literature, and the problems that arise, all of which are vast and complex. Additionally, most of the cases in this book are local or regional examples, and the problems discussed come from various parts of the continent. For this reason, in the th edition, we used a large number of appendices and proposed many questions at the end of each chapter; in the second edition, we provided a comprehensive guide; while the third and fourth editions share the common feature of having a dedicated website that offers links to data, maps, and other resources, as well as materials from previous editions.
