Headache relief caused by high blood pressure

Patient's question:

Approximately a week of careful examination revealed high blood pressure. Urine tests, blood tests, and basic heart and kidney checks were normal. Taking nifedipine lowered the blood pressure to 140/100. There were no symptoms during the day, but headaches occurred around 7:8 PM. Taking Advil made the pain disappear.

Doctor's answer:

Due to headaches caused by high blood pressure, the blood pressure has not been controlled to normal levels. Normal blood pressure values include systolic pressure (high pressure) of 90 to 140 mmHg and diastolic pressure (low pressure) of 60 to 90 mmHg. Since high blood pressure is a chronic condition and everyone's body is different, regardless of the medication used, it must be controlled to normal levels. Additionally, high blood pressure medications are generally started with simpler ones. In the early stages, it is best to use ordinary medications.
