Features: In the early autumn of 1924, I transferred to Chunhui Middle School to study out of admiration. At that time, the principal of Chunhui Middle School was the renowned democratic revolutionary and educator, Mr. Jing Hongyi. A group of top educators and young talents, including Xia Guanzun, Zhu Ziqing, Feng Zikai, Zhu Guangqian, Kuang Huisheng, Liu Dabai, and Wang Renshu, taught there. Coupled with the advanced and open educational philosophy, Chunhui enjoyed a high reputation, earning the fame of "North Nankai, South Chunhui." Chunhui Middle School, with its call for patriotic and democratic education, attracted so many erudite scholars to gather by the White Horse Lake, not only launching a fierce critique against the traditional educational thoughts and methods of old China, as well as the conservative, backward, and reactionary educational authorities, but also achieving remarkable accomplishments in educational reform. At the same time, it also yielded substantial gains in literary and artistic creation, forming a body of works and a group of writers characterized by simplicity, freshness, natural flow, and profound meaning, known as the "White Horse Lake Style." These literary works, created over seventy or eighty years ago, still hold high ideological and artistic value when read today.
