What types of diabetes are there

Patient's question:

I am 38 years old this year and was diagnosed with diabetes by the hospital. I know that diabetes is divided into many types. I would like to know how diabetes can be specifically identified to determine which types it belongs to?

Doctor's answer:

Many patients are discovered during health checks or other illnesses. The islet cells either secrete insulin to a lesser or greater extent, or normally, while the insulin secretion peak shifts backward rapidly. Insulin receptors on target cells or post-receptor defects play a significant role in the pathogenesis. Approximately 60% of type 2 diabetic patients are overweight or obese. Type 2 diabetes, previously known as non-insulin-dependent diabetes, accounts for about 90% of all diabetic patients, with most cases occurring after the age of 35. This disease develops slowly and subtly.
