Introduced to readers in January 1998, it quickly gained a significant impact among young readers. "Dudu Bear" is not only a good child but also has a and beloved image, favored by everyone. Among young readers, he holds high prestige and serves as a role model for children to emulate. As soon as "Dudu Bear" is mentioned, children immediately follow his actions.
How should we tell this book to our children? First, before reading, let the child look at the illustrations and ask them questions: Who is in the picture? What are they doing? For example, in the illustration titled "Handwashing," there are four animals: Dudu Bear, a puppy, a rabbit, and a kitten. Notably, Dudu Bear and the puppy are the focus. Dudu Bear is washing his hands, while the puppy licks its lips and extends one "hand" to grab food from the plate. Let the child observe the picture independently first. This not only prepares them for the story but also helps them develop a habit of observing and thinking actively.
Second, read the text on the illustration to the child in its original form. Before reading, "prepare lessons" by reading with emotion to engage the child and anticipate where they might need explanations.
Third, after discussing the illustration, let the child understand what to learn from "Dudu Bear." As for the reasoning behind these actions, parents should provide appropriate explanations based on the child's age and level.
Fourth, if the child exhibits behaviors mentioned in the picture, such as not washing hands before meals, address the issue with care. Avoid "bring up the past" to criticize the child or accuse them.
