Features: Wang Kefeng was originally the county magistrate of Ninghua County. After the party secretary moved away, could he naturally fill the vacancy? The novel, through his appointment, showcases the personal qualities of some cadres and the overall quality of our cadre team. However, at this critical moment that determines a person's fate, all the baseless rumors and the flaws of the cadre system, closely linked to the "relationship culture" and "balancing act" in official circles, are all manifested to varying degrees. It is precisely the full display of some people's conscience, cunning, power politics, and personal will that keeps this long novel focused on a central character. Around this central figure, various forms and types of conflicts are organized, ultimately serving the portrayal of the character's ideology and personality. The work makes people feel both down-to-earth and incisive, both realistic and profound, exposing the flaws of the cadre system while revealing the importance and necessity of strengthening the cadre team.
