Features: Since the mid-to-late 1990s, the internet has become popular in China, bringing about a series of management issues. This problem has not only troubled China's media management but has also become a widely issue in the international community. As a new form of communication medium, the internet integrates mass communication, interpersonal communication, and organizational communication, blending and enhancing the functions of traditional media. Technologically, it has decentralized, fragmented, and diversified both the content and form of communication, greatly impacting the traditional media management system. The results are as follows: At the level of information dissemination, the internet has promoted the diversification of information while also causing the loss of mainstream social values, making it difficult for traditional mainstream media to achieve their value orientation. At the level of interpersonal interaction, the internet has submerged the special identities assigned to individuals by society, leading to a separation between their social and natural attributes, rendering traditional public opinion influence and environmental constraints ineffective. At the level of social structure, the internet has dismantled the traditional hierarchical pyramid structure, replacing it with a flat, networked social structure that challenges the existing social order, making traditional top-down power management ineffective.
The series Innovations in Chinese and Foreign Media Systems uses the guiding principles of China's cultural system reform as a benchmark to observe the vivid practices of China's comprehensive media system reform. It validates the design of China's cultural system reform goals and the realistic expectations through the rich experience of China's media system reform and the broad landscape of media systems in five foreign countries. This book is part of the series, evaluating the formation, characteristics, and evolution of South Korea's media system, serving as a reference and lesson for China's media system reform and innovation.
