Patient's question:
I am 36 years old. When I am with my wife, I always have premature ejaculation, and it often happens like this. Recently, I feel very uncomfortable physically and think that atrial fibrillation has occurred again. Can frequent premature beats cause atrial fibrillation?Doctor's answer:
The heartbeat is the muscle contraction of the heart (including the atria and ventricles). Muscles only contract when affected by an electric current, which is released from the headquarters of the sinoatrial node and conducted along the nerves. Under normal circumstances, the heart nerves have already started pulsing at the top of the atria, known as the sinoatrial node. The current flows along the wires (which we call conduction pathways, but are actually wires) to the ventricles. Wherever it goes, the muscles contract.
