Features: This is a beautiful fairy tale. Wudiwo gained life by bringing joy to children, so he cherished the preciousness of life and understood how to nourish life with love and repay life with love. Love made Wudiwo's life more vibrant and interesting; love also made his friendship with the old poet sacred.
The Adventures of Wudiwo has two innovative aspects in terms of art:
First, the practice of dream poetics. Reading this fairy tale reminds me of the poem by French poet Jean Follain: "In his eternal field of childhood, the poet lingers alone, unwilling to forget any detail." In The Adventures of Wudiwo, Mr. Jin Bo attempts to reimagine childhood through dreams, resisting the forgetting of the past. French philosopher Gaston Bachelard once said, "When time grows old, childhood memories give us delicate emotions, a 'smiling regret' like that experienced by the poet Baudelaire in the vast atmosphere. In this 'smiling regret' experienced by the poet, we seem to have achieved a unique synthesis of regret and comfort." "Childhood is deeply rooted in our hearts, still in our hearts, and forever in our hearts. It is a state of the soul." Mr. Jin Bo's fairy tales create the past through dreams, touch childhood through dreams, and his dreams also create the future, creating a new state of life.
Second, an attempt at cross-genre writing poetics. The Adventures of Wudiwo is a beautiful fairy tale, but also a lyrical and tender poem. It is a story, yet it is linked together as a unique "flower ring" by "sonnets"—the fourteen chapters of the story. The last line of the sonnet at the beginning of each chapter is the same as the first line of the sonnet at the beginning of the next chapter, and the concluding sonnet is composed of the first lines of the previous fourteen sonnets. This is a unique "poetic fairy tale," reflecting Mr. Jin Bo's consistent aestheticism and romantic charm in his creative style.
