How to treat gastritis quickly

Patient's question:

The other day, I wore something thin, and the temperature dropped sharply these last couple of days. My child caught a cold a bit, and they've already started running a fever of 38.9 degrees. We went to a hospital in the county and received intravenous treatment for two days, and the fever has gone down, but the child looks very weak and keeps being drowsy. Today, we were transferred to another hospital. The doctor said the child's immunity is too weak and the condition has turned into gastritis. What should we do now with gastritis?

Doctor's answer:

Generally, within 5 to 7 days after acute gastroenteritis, it is necessary to prevent harmful factors from spreading: this includes quitting smoking, drinking alcohol, consuming strong tea, and coffee. Eat less spicy and rough foods, avoid overeating, and take fewer medications that stimulate the gastrointestinal tract. It is recommended to have three meals a day, with each meal never being overly full, and it is not advisable to have multiple small meals to avoid increasing stomach pressure. Typically, start by eating light, liquid, or semi-liquid foods such as rice soup, porridge, and fresh juice, gradually increasing the intake of protein-rich foods. However, avoid greasy and fried foods. Begin normal eating only after the gastrointestinal function has fully recovered, and pay attention to adequate rest, avoiding overexertion.
