Features: China is the birthplace of silk. Due to the large-scale export of Chinese silk textiles, which were mostly transported westward via Chang'an, later generations called it the ancient "Silk Road." The trade route leading to South Asia, West Asia, Europe, and Africa via land was known as the "Overland Silk Road"; the maritime route connecting the East and West was called the "Maritime Silk Road"; and the trade routes passing through grasslands or deserts were referred to as the "Grassland Silk Road." Among these, the "Overland Silk Road" and the "Maritime Silk Road" made the greatest contributions and had the widest influence. The Silk Road was like a colorful ribbon, connecting the ancient civilizations of Asia, Europe, and Africa and promoting cultural exchange between the East and West. The Silk Road was a peaceful path linking the East and West and connecting to all parts of the world; it was a cultural path that spread Chinese culture and absorbed the essence of the world; it was a path that promoted economic prosperity along the way; and it was a path that fostered mutual understanding and friendly exchanges among nations. The ancient Silk Road connected the East and West of the world, giving rise to splendid ancient civilizations. Along the endless Silk Road, countless traces of human exploration of history and symbols of ancient civilization were left behind: the world-famous Dunhuang, the mysterious ancient kingdom of Loulan with its enigmatic ancient scripts, and the astonishing artistic treasures of the East and West that left later generations in awe. All of these left behind countless unsolved mysteries, attracting generation after generation to explore and discover. This book summarizes the abundant achievements of Chinese ancient Silk Road research and highlights Mr. Bian Hongdeng's explorations across the various Silk Roads. Therefore, it is an excellent work that is both faithful to historical development and a collection of diverse Silk Road studies, rich in historical and contemporary significance.
