Features: This book is divided into eight chapters: Random Events and Probability, Random Variables and Their Distributions, Bivariate Random Variables and Their Distributions, Numerical Characteristics of Random Variables, Law of Large Numbers and Central Limit Theorem, Basic Concepts of Mathematical Statistics, Parameter Estimation, and Hypothesis Testing. According to the requirements of the "National Master's Entrance Unified Examination Mathematics Syllabus" in 2007, Mathematics Four does not cover the "Mathematical Statistics" section, which includes "Basic Concepts of Mathematical Statistics, Parameter Estimation, and Hypothesis Testing" these three chapters. For Mathematics One, Three, and Four, the requirements for the other chapters only have minor differences in procedural mastery. Candidates taking the master's entrance examination in January 2008 should refer to the new "Mathematics Syllabus." The structure of this book is fundamentally different from other similar books, emphasizing thinking and interaction with the reader. The author particularly adopts a three-step strategy of "Basic Concepts → Key Exam Points → Common Question Types" in each chapter. First, the basic concepts are introduced, followed by an in-depth yet accessible presentation of the "Question Type Learning Method," and each "Common Question Type" is accompanied by highly insightful "Question Type Comments." This is the result of the author's painstaking research in teaching, hoping to help everyone break through the "bottleneck" and complete the successful path from "Basic Concepts → Solving Secrets." This is essentially the "Two-Step Teaching Method" used in New Oriental's postgraduate mathematics tutoring.
