What are the hazards of moderate fatty liver?

Patient's question:

I am 26 years old this year, and I just got divorced this year. My wife and I are both civil servants. Our life is quite decent, and we haven't planned to have children yet. Recently, when my father went for a health check-up, the doctor said he had moderate fatty liver. I am very worried about my father.

Doctor's answer:

(1) Fatty liver can easily lead to problems in the fat metabolism of an obese liver, where the fats, carbohydrates, and proteins consumed cannot be effectively utilized and are instead stored as fat, thus constituting obesity. Obesity not only affects body shape but also easily leads to various diseases.
(2) Fatty liver is often coexistent with high triglycerides. By definition, fatty liver refers to an excess of fat in the liver, and triglycerides are the primary form of fat within the liver. When the fat metabolism of the liver malfunctions again, fatty liver is likely to reoccur.
