Patient's question:
Doctor, I often have acid reflux, and I had a mirror check for bile reflux gastritis. My throat always hurts, I have a dry cough, and my tongue feels spicy. The doctor said it's due to spleen and stomach cold leading to Shaoyang heat. My digestion is poor, so I take Omeprazole for stomach acid. I need to control my bowel movements to prevent loose stools and undigested food. I would like to ask the doctor what medicine would be good to take.Doctor's answer:
This is caused by internal damp-heat, not by stomach cold. The liver governs the free flow of qi, and bile can enhance the absorption of food. Damp-heat in the liver and gallbladder leads to abnormal bile secretion, stimulating the gastric mucosa and causing bile reflux gastritis. Damp-heat also irritates the urethral and pharyngeal mucosa, causing discomfort. Chinese patent medicine Ershiwuwei Lüloonghao Wan can be replaced with Bawei Xihuang Qingganre Jiaonang for conditioning. It clears heat, dries dampness, regulates qi, and resolves turbidity. During medication, avoid spicy and extremely cold foods.
