Patient's question:
I am 38 years old. Recently, I feel that my liver is very tired. I haven't had a good appetite. At night, I always feel a sharp pain in my stomach. I went to a nearby hospital for a check-up and was told it was liver disease. They asked me to get an injection. Could you please tell me what are the symptoms of hepatitis A?Doctor's answer:
Fatigue, lack of appetite, darkening of urine color, and sometimes fever symptoms may occur. In severe cases, the sclera and skin may turn yellow. Adults infected typically exhibit symptomatic infection, while children or the elderly are more likely to show asymptomatic infection.Liver symptoms include acute onset with chills, fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea, indigestion, reduced appetite, nausea, fatigue, hepatomegaly, and abnormal liver function. In the early stages of the illness, it is often misdiagnosed as a cold. Most hepatitis A patients develop fever, with an average duration of 3 days, although a small portion of patients may have fever lasting more than 5 days.
