The Contemporary Russian Language Theory (first published in 1963 by Commercial Press, edited by Wang Chaocen, Huang Shunan, Xin Delin, et al.) has long been esteemed in the field of Russian language teaching in Chinese universities. It has been reprinted multiple times and remains popular among readers, even today, and has been designated as a reference book for postgraduate entrance examinations in Russian language and literature by some universities. This work is scientifically grounded, rigorously expressed, and accessible, providing a comprehensive and systematic reflection of the research status of Russian standard language at that time. However, more than four decades have passed since its first publication. Times are evolving, and science is advancing. With the continuous deepening of linguistic research, the theoretical system of Russian standard language has undergone significant changes during this period. Contemporary Russian Language Theory strives to maintain the scientific spirit and rigorous academic style of the Modern Russian Language Theory, while also seeking to reflect the contemporary state of Russian standard language theory.
