Is it okay to take pediatric paracetamol and yellow granules for a cold and cough?

Patient's question:

My baby has had a cold for the past two days. At first, I thought drinking more hot water would help it recover on its own, so I didn't see a doctor or take any medicine. However, after two days, it still hasn't gotten better. Today, I gave my baby some infant acetaminophen and yellow granules. Hello, my baby has a cold, runny nose, and occasionally coughs. Is it okay to just give them infant acetaminophen and yellow granules?

Doctor's answer:

Need to have a blood test done at the hospital for a thorough check-up. If it is caused by a recurrence of an inflammatory infection, such as tonsillitis, anti-inflammatory drugs need to be used, and symptomatic treatment drugs also need to be used. If there is a stuffy nose, runny nose, hiccups, and a viral infection, antiviral drugs can be used in combination. And body temperature needs to be measured, as there may be a fever.
