What are the symptoms of severe fatty liver?

Patient's question:

I am a moderate to severe fatty liver patient. The doctor suggested that I pay attention to regulation and actively treat it. However, recently I haven't been paying much attention to my diet, and I feel that my symptoms have worsened. Will it expand into severe fatty liver? I'm very worried, so I'd like to ask for advice: What are the symptoms of severe fatty liver?

Doctor's answer:

The symptoms of severe fatty liver are relatively prominent in clinical manifestations. General symptoms may include: significant limb fatigue, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, aversion to greasy food, nausea, dry heaving, right shoulder and back pain with a sense of fullness, discomfort in the upper right abdomen, reduced blood pressure, dry mouth, bitter taste in the mouth, bad breath, and irregular bowel movements. If severe fatty liver is accompanied by abnormal liver function, it may present with severe physical weakness, nausea, dry heaving, aversion to greasy food, and abdominal pain, which are symptoms of worsening liver conditions. In some cases of severe fatty liver, due to elevated liver function and reduced plasma protein, symptoms such as ascites, bilateral lower limb edema, hyponatremia, and hypokalemia may occur. It can be said that if the symptoms of severe fatty liver are extremely severe, there is a possibility of progression to liver cirrhosis. Therefore, if a fatty liver patient experiences symptoms similar to those mentioned again, it should be given high attention, and timely and standardized treatment is crucial.
