Features: The Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Personnel began implementing the National Examination for Registered Architects in 1995. To help architects prepare for the exam, the authors of this book have been involved in teaching at the Beijing First- and Second-Level Registered Architect Examination Preparation Classes since 1995. They are senior engineers and professors with deep expertise in this field, coming from various institutions such as the Beijing Architectural Design and Research Institute, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Beijing University of Technology, Beijing Jiaotong University, Renmin University of China, Tsinghua University Architectural Design Institute, and the former Beijing Municipal Planning and Administrative Bureau. Based on the examination syllabus and current codes and standards, the authors have written this set of examination preparation materials to guide students. The purpose of the textbook is to facilitate review, hence it is concise, practical, and focuses on the understanding and application of codes and standards, while highlighting key concepts. The textbook was officially published in 2001, fully revised in 2003 according to the new examination syllabus and updated codes and standards, and again supplemented and updated in 2004 with an accompanying CD containing post-chapter exercises. It has been revised once more this year. To facilitate review, the textbook is published in 5 volumes. Volume 1 includes Chapters 1 to 8, covering "Design Preliminary Site and Architectural Design"; Volume 2 includes Chapters 9 to 13, covering "Architectural Structures"; Volume 3 includes Chapters 14 to 19, covering "Architectural Physics and Building Equipment"; Volume 4 includes Chapters 20 and 21, covering "Building Materials and Construction"; and Volume 5 includes Chapters 22 to 24, covering "Building Economics, Construction, and Design Business Management." When reviewing this textbook, candidates should also refer to the corresponding codes and standards. Each chapter includes reference exercises to help candidates assess their review progress and prepare for the exam. Additionally, in 2001, we organized the writing of the "Mock Examination Questions for the First-Level Registered Architect Examination," which has been revised annually since then. It contains nearly 3,000 multiple-choice questions, each with answers and hints. The book also includes a special drawing question section with reference answers and a CD with mock examination questions. This "Mock Examination Questions" set will greatly benefit candidates in their preparation. According to the "Administrative Licensing Law," the editorial committee of this book no longer bears the name of the Registered Architect Examination Committee, but the content remains unchanged. With annual revisions and supplements, the quality of the book continues to improve each year.
