Features: Fixed dental restoration differs from removable restoration in terms of the extensive and irreversible nature of tooth preparation and the non-removability of the restoration. Any design or fabrication error will result in irreparable defects, sustained trauma, and irritation. Today, the material conditions in China's dental restoration field (rooms, equipment, instruments, materials) have improved countless times compared to the past. Under these current conditions, the restorations should logically be more durable than those made by our predecessors half a century ago. Even rootless teeth are part of the living body. A dental restoration specialist's monument of skill and conscience is not on paper or the wall, but in the patient's mouth. This book, co-authored with five colleagues from the Fixed Restoration Teaching Group of the Department of Prosthodontics at Peking University School of Stomatology, was revised and supplemented based on my teaching notes over the past decade. Sincere thanks to the Lee Hyasan Foundation for its support, which allowed me to deepen my understanding of fixed dental restoration. It includes the pioneering work and teachings of domestic and international masters, the legacy of Professor Song Shiqing, the insights gained from conducting biomechanical research in dental restoration under Professor Zhou Shumin, and our experiences in clinical and teaching research.
