Features: A superficial work, since its release in 2002, it has been beloved and eagerly purchased by countless students. Throughout my teaching career, it has been a great fortune. Although the book has undergone revisions and has become increasingly mature, following the current slogans, it still needs to "keep pace with the times" and adapt to exams. Therefore, it requires annual revisions and continuous updates. During the previous academic year, I was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States. During this time, I was able to escape the trivialities of life at home. In addition to research, I had ample free time. Thus, I focused on the FATMD exam and conducted a statistical and analytical review of past test questions with my American colleagues. Based on this, I targetedly collected and organized a large amount of material, finding various language test questions that are hard to come by in China. I wrote new mock tests. Due to the broader sources and wider content compared to when I was in China, I am confident that the 2007 edition will show improvement over the 2006 edition. The main revisions for the 2007 edition are as follows:
1. Expanding vocabulary based on the new vocabulary list in the exam syllabus:
a) Added approximately 90 common phrases (addition rate: 3%)
b) Added 800 common words (addition rate: 6%)
2. Updating questions based on the analysis of new test questions:
a) Listening
b) Vocabulary
c) Cloze
d) Reading
e) Writing
3. All audio recordings were completely remade: Clear and realistic pronunciation.
Additionally, some chapters were revised and adjusted, and minor corrections were made to previous editions. Due to the authors' limited knowledge, there may still be errors in the book. We hope that students and colleagues will kindly point them out. I hope that myself and the other authors of this book can continue this "benefit all" good deed and continue to serve as stepping stones for students on their life paths.
Finally, regarding how to improve your comprehensive English proficiency, I offer the following suggestion to all readers: Increase your reading volume. As the old saying goes: "Read ten thousand volumes, and your pen will flow like magic."
