Can people with chronic nephritis exercise?

Patient's question:

I am a patient with chronic nephritis. Following the guidance of my doctor, I am currently taking medication for treatment and also getting proper rest, doing my best to recover my health. However, recently I want to go to the gym. Can I go to the gym?

Doctor's answer:

Patients with nephritis need to rest more, drink more water, and urinate frequently. It is recommended that you minimize strenuous exercise. Since I am unaware of your specific physical condition, it is advised that you wait until the nephritis is treated and the protein in the urine turns negative before engaging in physical exercise. Alternatively, if your symptoms are very mild at the moment, it should not have too much impact on your body, so it is okay to engage in appropriate activities, but the intensity must be controlled.
