Who is prone to getting hepatitis

Patient's question:

My colleague is very approachable and also likes to go out with us. Recently, my colleague hasn't been very hungry and has been feeling nauseous. At first, I didn't pay much attention, but later, the hospital confirmed that they had hepatitis. Who is prone to getting hepatitis?

Doctor's answer:

Those who are generally more obese and those who drink a lot of beer are more prone to hepatitis.
1. Obese individuals. In obese people, subcutaneous fat tissue is compressed, leading to fat deposition in the liver.
2. Alcoholics. Alcohol undergoes decomposition and metabolism in the liver, which can cause compression and impaired breakdown of fatty acids. Therefore, the more one drinks, the more easily fatty acids accumulate in the liver, making alcoholic fatty liver disease more likely.
3. Older adults. As people age, their metabolic function gradually declines, and physical activity also decreases, increasing the likelihood of severe fat accumulation. Additionally, middle-aged and elderly individuals are more prone to endocrine diseases, such as diabetes, which can cause metabolic disorders and ultimately lead to fat accumulation in the liver.
